Firstly let me make it clear that we are not a Hotel, there is no tick box on this site to say that we are a guest house or bed and breakfast (which are much the same thing). There is no restaurant on site but there are places to eat nearby.
That said:
Bloomfield House is an elegant, unique, grade II Listed Georgian family house with romantic four poster bedrooms, half testers and a cosy south facing single – all en-suite. We serve mostly organic breakfasts made from local produce where possible until 11.00am. We cater for vegetairans/vegans and all hot food is freshly cooked to order. The guest house has a friendly relaxed atmosphere and is situated in a quiet elevated location with about a 20 minute walk down to the city centre. Please note for those with allergies that we have both cats and dogs – reception areas only. We accept pets by prior arrangement. We are sorry but Saturday nights are generally only available as part of a two night booking. Our cancellation terms are a full 5 days notice required.
All the guest rooms are situated on the top floor of the house. As we have no lift this does mean there are stairs to climb, we are happy to help you with your luggage though. On a positive note this means all the rooms have far reaching views. Due to the nature and layout of the building we are not suitable for anyone with disabilities that means steps are an issue - sorry.
We have private off street parking with our own electric car charging point which is free to use when staying at Bloomfield House.
Check-in times : 2pm - 9.30pm Check-out : 12 noon.
Check-in is only available after 9.30pm by prior arrangement. As this is our home, we are mostly here but there is no 24 hour reception so if you have to arrive at an unusual hour you might be better off with a hotel. I'm happy to accept guest up to midnight ONLY if pre-arranged. Earlier arrivals are welcome subject to room availability.
Whilst we are out of the city centre itself we are on a regular bus route so access is easy. It takes 15-20 mins to walk down into town and 25-30 to walk back up! The bus costs in the region of £2.50 and a taxi £7 - £8. The closest Airport is Bristol and the rail station is Bath Spa.
We have 6 rooms in total and can accommodate up to 11 people. All double rooms have king size or larger bed and sleep 2 people in each room in one bed. We only have one room that can be made up as a twin (ie: 2 separate beds - this is the king double and it needs to be booked in advance as a twin (we are unable to make last minute changes to this).
